Tima Shomali is an award-winning Arab director, producer, writer, and actress, and the founder of Filmizion Productions, a film and TV company based in Amman, Jordan.
She is the creator, showrunner, and director of the Netflix Original AlRawabi School for Girls, a groundbreaking series that earned both regional and international acclaim. Released in 2021, the show’s second season debuted in February 2024, landing in Netflix’s global Top 10 across 43 countries and winning Best Levant Series at the Joy Awards 2025.
Tima first rose to prominence with the hit series “FemaleShow”, which amassed over 100 million views across three seasons. She holds a BA in Business Administration and Finance and an MFA in Screenwriting and Producing from the Red Sea Institute of Cinematic Arts.
Recognized for her impact on the region’s creative landscape, Tima has been named one of the Most Influential Young Arabs by Arabian Business for several years, was included in its 2025 list of 100 Most Inspiring Women, listed by Variety among the Most Impactful Women in Global Entertainment (2022), and featured on Esquire’s 2023 “The Esquire 40: Arabs Changing Film & TV”.
